How to play

Each day, one English word gets excavated. Two moves, from the surface down:

• Cut — tap between letters to split the word into its ancient pieces. Wrong cuts tell you how far off you are (← 2 means two letters left).
• Translate — match each piece to what it originally meant. The cards wear the colors of their home language — but beware: the pool contains traps.

Finish the dig and you'll see what the word literally means — window is "wind-eye," muscle is "little mouse."

Each phase allows a few checks. Clue is free — use it to learn. Colors are explained in the field guide.
